WAW-300 kN Elevator Steel Rope and Rebar Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine with Servo Control
Hydraulic Universal Testing Machines

Overview
The WAW-300 is a computer control electro-hydraulic servo universal testing machine rated at 300 kN, supplied for the testing of elevator steel rope, rebar, steel wire and other high-tensile metal products. It is equipped with a computer, a printer and general test software to give an accurate determination of the tensile strength, yield strength, proof strength at non-proportional extension, elongation and elastic modulus of metallic materials.
The machine uses hydraulic automatic clamp fixtures, which grip rope, bar and wire evenly over the whole jaw length and avoid the grip slippage and premature failure that simple wedge grips can cause on a stranded wire or a ribbed reinforcing bar. Test results print six kinds of curve – force-displacement, force-deformation, stress-displacement, stress-deformation, force-time and distortion-time – with the related test data, and the software includes a self-test function that diagnoses problems.

Frame, columns and hydraulic system
The main unit uses a rigid in-block cast base with the fuel tank mounted under the host, and the upper space is used for tensile testing while the lower space is used for compression, bending or shear testing. A solid four-column, two-screw design guarantees strong stability, which matters when a 300 kN tensile test is carried out on a stiff rebar or a steel rope sample. The hydraulic gear pump is a Japanese Nachi imported unit that delivers high pressure at low noise.
The hydraulic system uses well-known brands for the electromagnetic valve, relief valve and pressure-relief valve, and the servo valve – the core part of the control loop – is an Atos brand unit. A precise load sensor guarantees accurate and stable measurement, and overload protection stops the machine when the test force exceeds 2%-5% of the maximum test force of the selected range, protecting both the specimen and the frame.
Control modes and applications
The controller provides load automatic withstanding and stress, strain and cycle control with self-programming, so the operator can run a standard tensile test or a multi-stage test in one pass. The machine is used by industrial and mining enterprises, scientific research units, universities and engineering quality supervision stations, and it is well suited to project-quality testing sections, colleges, research institutions and industrial laboratories.
For elevator steel rope and rebar the combination of 300 kN capacity, hydraulic clamping and 600 mm tensile space is what allows a full-size sample to be gripped and broken without the grips running out of travel, and the same frame carries out compression tests on concrete or steel coupons and bending tests with the 30-450 mm roller span.
Standards and verification
The machine is designed around ASTM E8 for tension testing of metallic materials, ISO 6892-1:2016 for room-temperature tensile testing, ASTM E4-16 for force verification of testing machines and ISO 7500-1 for verification of the force-measuring system. Load accuracy is Class 1 as standard with Class 0.5 available, deformation and displacement accuracy are within +/-1% with +/-0.5% optional, and the load resolution is 1/500000 of full scale.
Because the force measuring system can be verified to ASTM E4 or ISO 7500-1, results are traceable and comparable, and the machine class is quoted with every result so that the uncertainty of the force measurement is known.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the machine mainly used for?
It is a 300 kN servo-controlled hydraulic universal testing machine for elevator steel rope, rebar, steel wire and other high-tensile metal products, and it also performs compression and bending tests.
How are rope and rebar specimens gripped?
With hydraulic automatic clamp fixtures that grip round specimens from Phi 5-32 mm and flat specimens up to 15 mm, gripping the sample evenly to avoid slippage and premature failure.
What accuracy class and standards apply?
Load accuracy is Class 1 (Class 0.5 optional); the machine is designed to ASTM E8, ASTM E4-16, ISO 6892-1:2016 and ISO 7500-1.
What are the frame dimensions and weight?
The main body measures 700 x 500 x 1865 mm, the oil control cabinet 1200 x 600 x 750 mm, and the total weight is about 1800 kg.
What protection does the machine have?
Overload protection stops the machine when the test force exceeds 2%-5% of the maximum test force of the selected range, and the controller provides load automatic withstanding with stress, strain and cycle control.

About CHENJI & Support
CHENJI is the brand of Jinan Chenji International Trade Co., Ltd. (Shandong, China), a manufacturer and exporter of material testing machines since 2014, with in-house quality control plus third-party inspection by SGS or Bureau Veritas. The company holds ISO 9001 certification (626024QH073R1) and is a Bureau Veritas audited supplier (MIC-ASR2451820). Testing machines are normally supplied with a calibration certificate valid for 12 months and traceable to national force standards, and our engineers help you select the machine, fixtures and accessories for your specimen and method.
Every quotation is prepared against the standard you test to, so the delivered machine matches the test method rather than only the headline capacity. Spare parts, consumables and calibration support are available after delivery, and machines can be produced to OEM or ODM requirements when a customer drawing or specification is provided.
Selecting and Verifying a Testing Machine
Choosing a machine is a matter of matching capacity to the specimen and the method, not of buying the largest frame. Capacity selection follows the specimen and the standard, and the force measuring system should be verified per ISO 7500-1 or ASTM E4 on a regular schedule. Load cells are commonly supplied as class 0.5 or class 1, which means the indicated force stays within ±0.5% or ±1% of the true force.
Test results are only comparable when they are quoted together with the standard, the specimen geometry, the test speed and the force measurement class. We are glad to review your test method and specimen so that the machine, fixtures and accessories are correctly specified before you order.
